TruePulse Pricing Explained: How to Pick the Right Plan for Your Team

A breakdown of TruePulse's Free, Starter, Growth, and Enterprise plans — what you actually get at each tier, and how to think about the upgrade decision.

Employee survey and recognition software pricing is often needlessly confusing — per-response fees, feature-gated tiers, annual-only contracts, and "contact sales" pricing that hides the real number until you're three calls deep. TruePulse takes a simpler approach: per-employee-per-month pricing, a genuinely free tier with no expiry, and every plan gets the same core anonymity and data-isolation guarantees. Here's how the plans actually break down, and how to think about which one fits.

The four plans at a glance

Free — $0/month, forever. Built for small teams getting started: up to 10 employees, 1 campaign per month, 3 survey templates, and the 100+ question library. Anonymous response collection, an email campaign manager, verbatim comment theming, and Slack Kudos & Recognition (50 kudos/month) are all included. There's no trial clock and no credit card required — it's a genuinely permanent free tier, not a 14-day trial with a different name.

Starter — $1/employee/month, free for your first 3 months. The most popular plan. Up to 100 employees, 10 campaigns per month, 25 templates, the 500+ question library, plus segment analytics broken down by department, team, and location — the feature most small HR teams actually need once they outgrow the Free plan's single monthly campaign. Kudos volume rises to 250/month.

Growth — $3/employee/month. For companies running surveys regularly and wanting deeper insight: up to 500 employees, 50 campaigns per month, custom branding on survey emails, CSV data export, trend tracking across campaigns, multiple admin users, and a custom question builder. Kudos volume rises to 1,000/month.

Enterprise — custom pricing. Unlimited employees and campaigns, SSO/SAML, a dedicated customer success manager, an SLA, custom data retention policies, API access, volume discounts, and unlimited Kudos.

What's included on every single plan

Some things aren't tiered at all — they're table stakes, on Free and Enterprise alike:

  • 100% anonymous by design. Responses are stripped of identifying data at the database level, not hidden behind a UI toggle an admin could switch off.
  • Complete tenant isolation. Your organisation's data lives in a fully separate workspace — zero data sharing across tenants, regardless of plan.
  • No setup fees or onboarding cost. Choose a template, import employees, write an intro, send. First survey live in under five minutes.
  • Automatic reminders to employees who haven't responded yet.
  • Real-time results segmented by department, team, location, and custom tags as responses come in.
  • Slack Kudos & Recognition — giving recognition, custom categories, and the dashboard are free on every plan; only the monthly kudos volume scales.

This matters more than it might seem. A lot of survey vendors put the features that actually make data trustworthy and useful — genuine anonymity, tenant isolation, segment breakdowns — behind a paywall. TruePulse treats those as non-negotiable baseline, not an upsell.

How to think about the upgrade decision

Stay on Free if: you have 10 or fewer employees, or you're validating whether pulse surveys are the right investment before committing budget. One campaign a month is genuinely enough to run a monthly engagement pulse for a small team.

Move to Starter when: you outgrow 10 employees, or you need more than one campaign a month — for example, running a monthly pulse survey alongside an onboarding survey track (see our onboarding survey guide), which needs more than a single monthly send. Segment analytics is usually the deciding feature: once you have more than one team, "know which team needs attention" becomes the whole point of running a survey at all.

Move to Growth when: you're running surveys frequently enough that trend tracking across campaigns matters, you need more than one admin managing the programme, or you want custom branding for a more polished employee-facing experience. CSV export also matters here — if you need to combine survey data with other HR systems for reporting, Growth unlocks that.

Move to Enterprise when: you need SSO/SAML for security compliance, you're above 500 employees, or you need contractual guarantees (an SLA, custom data retention) that procurement or legal requires before signing.

What TruePulse deliberately doesn't do

Two pricing patterns are common in this market and worth watching out for when comparing vendors — TruePulse avoids both:

No per-survey or per-send fees. Some platforms charge extra every time you launch a campaign. That penalises exactly the behaviour — frequent pulse surveys — that produces the most useful data. TruePulse's campaign limits are monthly caps within your plan, not a metered cost per send.

No paywalling the results that matter. Segment breakdowns are the single most valuable output of any employee survey — they tell you where a problem is, not just that one exists. Some vendors let you collect responses on a cheap plan but require an upgrade to see anything beyond an aggregate score. On TruePulse, segment analytics is included from Starter up, not held back as a top-tier-only feature.

A note on the 3-month Starter trial

Starter is free for your first 3 months with no credit card required upfront. Near the end of the trial, you'll get a reminder — you can then choose to continue at $1/employee/month, downgrade to Free, or export your data and leave. There's no automatic charge without explicit consent.

Comparing against alternatives

If you're evaluating TruePulse against a general-purpose survey tool, the pricing comparison usually favours TruePulse on a like-for-like basis once you account for what's actually included: see how it stacks up against SurveyMonkey, Google Forms, and Typeform.
